Question about 2005 Ford Five Hundred
Anything from a slipping belt to a pressure pipe leaking ,even dry steering joints ,try putting some engine oil on top of the mc pherson strut ,under the bonnet and where the 3 bolts are in the middle is a bearing underneath and if it has plastic cover on top lift this out and introduce a few squirts of engine oil ,not that fish oil spray and leave the oil to soak down and this will lubricate the bearing .Other than that i have no idea without my head under the bonnet iam afraid .

Does the fluid read overfull on the stick now? You might have stripped the splines in the converter for the pump shaft. This is common problem on this model. Also the Forward clutch piston are known for cracking.

Might just be a loose connection on the power steering hoses. You'll need to get under (BE CAREFUL) your car or get it up on a car hoist. You or a mechanic, should be able to trace where the leak is and either tighten the connections or replace the hose. Cold weather brings on leaks ! !
I don't think the brake vibration has anything to do with it. Brake vibration usually means the brake rotors are warping. Common problem. Have you have your brakes checked lately? Might be time for new pads and rotors.
