Question about 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
If the message "service 4wd" is appearing than there is a problem with the four wheel drive system. It does not mean the four wheel drive needs to be serviced (fluids changed, etc.).
Did you make any repairs to the four wheel drive system?

The Wheel Bearing(s) need to be replaced. They should be bolt-on assembly and are bolted from the back of the steering knuckle. It is easy to remove and replace. Buy your bearing assembly(ies) from an auto parts store versus the dealer to save you a lot of money.
