2005 Jeep TJ just quit wont start again

New PCM added and the keys recoded. Jeep ran great for 4 days and then just stalled at a gas station. I pushed it out of the way and it sat for 5 minutes and started again. I drove apporx 4 blocks and then it just stopped altogether and would not start again. No power anywhere. I had no dash display lights, no odometer reading, no power anywhere.

Could this be the crank sensor? A relay? something shorting out the newly installed PMC? I really am at a loss on this one. I drove Jeep out to hope and back 4 times in 4 days wtih absolutely no problems and then today 2 serious issues. Please help

Your issue seems more related to the wiring harness and starting and charging circuits when no dash appears.

The Crank position sensor only gives the ECU a reference point as to which cylinder to fire, not much beyond that.

I would recheck the PMC installation, all steps, connections and mounting screws and make sure the connectors are fully seated- they may not have been initially for various reasons, and the vibrations of driving may have shifted the connectors enough to reveal partial contact. also check the bulkhead connector, make sure it is tight. Check the battery cable down to the starter and over to the power distribution block. Make sure all fuses are clean and fully seated in the power distribution block. Check engine block to frame and body jumpers- make sure they are all in place.

Also check alternator wiring. It would not hurt to check the electrical portion of the ignition switch- this is down near the firewall on top of the steering tube. Make sure that connector is fully seated. Normally a pin holds it in place to make it difficult to remove. Sometimes it can distort.

Plus anything that looks like a fusible link along the way- test it- gentle tension will reveal if it is the source of problem.

Have you checked the ignition switch to see if there is power in and out?

My 2003 pontiac vibe wont start it was running great the chk engine lite came on steady still ran great then one day turned off wont start again

Turn on switch and listen for the "buzz" from the fuel pump, if it has a good pump it should turn on for 3 seconds when key is on without cranking the motor. If engine turns faster than normal, likely a timing belt. These are my first checks for no start conditions.

I have a 2002 4 litre tj,when i start it it only runs for about 5 or 6 seconds then quits,it does this every time if you reset the ignition,if you dont reset the ignition it wont start it just turns...

It sounds pretty obvious that the security system is not recognizing your key and is shutting the fuel off to the engine. First try a different key (your Jeep originally came with two). If that does not work, or you do not have the second key, you will need to get your security system diagnosed to locate the source of the malfunction and/or program a new key.

94 Jeep wont start running after 3 seconds.

It could be the security system or maybe a crank sensor.

96 Jeep cherokee ran out of gas, re-fuel, won't start. No spark.

You may have to prime the fuel pump. Or replace the fuel pump if that does not work. Why do you let it run out of gas? This is definately not good for an injected motor. It will continue to cause more and more problems. Fuel injectors should never run dry.

Onece in a while turn over wont fire. runs great other wise

your injector or fuel pump may be going out, next time when you check the issue, check your distubutor again and making sure you getting sparks, if you do have sparks than it has to be your fuel problems.
