Question about 2004 Mercedes-Benz Mercedes Benz E Class

Open Question

Merc e class estate electric parcel shelf

My Merc e class estate electric parcel shelf motor makes an awful racket when the shelf comes to rest on opening or clossing the tail lift. Fixing it is not my intention but if anyone knows where the fuse is to disable the motors I would be most grateful.  I have noted that there are fuse boxes in the rear cargo area abd under the bonnet but I do not have a fuse map! Can anybody help on this one

SOURCE: Mercedes estate automatic rear load cover

I had this problem with my E280 CDI (2007)
I coincidentally charged the battery and it now works. This may be nothing to do with it but the MB service dept did msay that some functions fail before others if the battery is flat.

SOURCE: I have a 1994 Mercedes E320. My blower fan doesn't work.

The "strip" fuse is in a tootsie roll sized black container on the drivers side strut mount. pop it open and there it is. 2 philips screws hold it in place. Breaks in the fuse are not easy to see.

Battery was flat this morning as I hadn't driven it in a week. Local garage just charged up the battery for me and now my roof refuses to open!

there are two latches in the boot that must be closed. You unlatch them to lift the parcel shelf.

the parcel shelf in the back has to be all the way down. There are two switches it sits on, that have to be activated before the top will go down.

the panel wasn't properly positioned so the roof would not open

Where is the parcel shelf on a 2007 Mini Cooper

The parcel shelf is that flat area behind you head of the rear seat. Normally has speakers or junk on it. On hatch back cars it lifts up as you open the hatch.

How do you remove the rear speakers from a 2004 chevy impala?

Remove the rear seat. On later models remove the rear upper quarter panel by pulling down & out to disengage the retainer clips, then sliding the roof leg out from under the trim panel over the door. Detach the rear seat belts through the slot in the rear parcel shelf. Pry up the plastic clips securing the rear parcel shelf. Then lift up & out to remove it from the vehicle. Remove the speaker retaining screws or tabs. If the speaker seal has bonded with the metal shelf, hold the tabs & pry the housing away from the metal. Disconnect the electical connector & remove the speaker. Install in reverse order. Good luck!

I have a Honda jazz sports with retractable parcel shelf attached to bar across car. Can this be removed and how when transporting large objects

The sides of the cross bar should push in which will allow you to lift the cross bar and the retracted shelf out!

My mini cabriolet roof only opens half way. Is there a code to open it competley? Please can anyone help?

Make sure that all of the micro switches are depressed. There are two in the trunk both on the drivers side. One is where the parcel shelf rests.(Not the back pivot rod but the resting part.) The other is on the left latch that keeps the rear upper trunk latched. The last one is that the trunk is shut. Make sure all three of these switches are depressed and the top will operate.
