SOURCE: how to replace heater core

Welcome to Fixya

Heater core is located behind the center unit (near the stereo, ac, etc.) hovering above the floorboard between the passenger and driver side.
Take off the black heat shield. Open your hood.
At the back of the engine cavity (the engine side of the heater core). You will see two identical pipes/stems coming out.
Remove any hoses, etc. from the two pipes/stems.
Now, it should just be a matter of wriggling the core loose from the inside.
If you can't pull it from the inside, try pushing from under the hood.

Thank you for using Fixya!

Heater core leaking

Must replace the heater core. Its usually a very hard job that requires disassembly of the dash. If you insist on doing the job yourself, I suggest getting a repair manual from your local auto parts store so you can use it as a reference as you work. Need a heater core diagram for a 91 mazda b2200

The only thing to do is get a diagram from the MAZDA dealer parts dept. "A few parts fell out" is way to vague to help you.

not really. IT is under the dash on the passenger side. You should put some plastic down or pull the carpet or it will get soaked with anti freeze

I need to replace a heater core in a 91 buick regal and need to know where it is?

The heater core is going to be in the heat duct either under the glovebox (inside the car) or on same side of car under the hood close to the firewall.
