Question about 2000 Ford Ranger SuperCab
When i bought the truck it only had a missfire and did a tuneup ran alittle better then drove it 17 mile then it run really ruff and losing power and the cat on the pip is glowing red what do i need to do.
Well sounds like you may have a few problems but we have to start with what we know is going on. The P0353 is a Ignition Coil Primary/Secondary fault. Check the wiring to the coil pack and see if all looks ok, if so then probably need to repalce the coil pack and that should remove the p0353 fault. The Glowing Converter could be caused as a side effect of this fault as the coild is not properly firing the spark plugs which is causing all the symptoms.
Hope this answers some of your questions

Cat could be clogged but it sounds like you might have a bad sparkplug or sparkplug wire or you could have clogged fuel injectors - That would screw up the fuel mix going through your engine which would send raw fuel to the cat causing it to burn too hot.

You have an overrich fuel condition.
That will make the Cat over heat and in time will ruin it.
Check for codes
Check for misfires
Check O2 Sensors.
Fix the engine driveablitiy issues, and hope converter is okey. Not likely if you caught it so late ,it is red hot.
A ten year old converter being clogged, would seem to me, to have been helped along ,by lack of necessary maintainance on the engine
