The head gasket has specific coolant passages in it to allow for proper flow of the engine coolant between the engine block and the head. Was the reason for the head gasket repalcement due to overheating concerns? If you have had no problem until now then I would venture to say the mechanic installed the head gasket on reversed and thus your problem
Hope this helps

SOURCE: just had a head gasket replaced and 3 weeks later

Get ready for a engine repair, most likely a oil pump went out,and spun a bearing or two.Check the oil to see that there is oil in it,and that the oil and coolant did not mix,

SOURCE: HEAD GASKET GONE AFTER 12000 MILES

When a h/gasket it done it is usually required to come back in after 1000k,s to be retensioned.A modified gasket is mainly fitted IF the head was shaved or reconditioned.Did they say to bring it back in for the head to be retensioned after the initial fitting? If not,it is their fault. It is the same as a new car.It requires the head gasket to be retensioned after 1000k,s.All cars are the same.Hope this helps you

Kia carnival 2000, have replaced radiator, water pump, timing belt, intake, full service and now its over heating, using water and water in oil

if the oil is getting coolant in it sounds like a head gasket when the work was done there was a air pocket not cleared out and after over heating the head gasket can fail or if it got hot enough some thing might have cracked

Going through alot of oil and antifreeze.... have oil where my spark plug is

The engine can burn alot of coolant before you see any smoke.
And having a cooling leak in the engine could cause it to run hot at times.
If you are adding coolant every week and don't see any leaks, the engine has to be burning it. Most of the time it is a blown head gasket and cracked head or block.

2000 Escalade blown headgasket?? Ok well here it goes..... I have an Escalade 5.7 that the oil looked like chocolate milk and was over heating my friend who also fixes my cars was supposed to do...

Before replacing head gasket put a pressure test on the coolant system and look for a leak around the intake manifold gaskets. These gaskets are prone for leaking and allowing coolant into the oil.

Changed spark plugs in 97 buick lasabre and now it cranks and runs, but white smoke coming out. Is that blown head gaskets? Does it have anything to do with the fuel pump my mechanic put on 3 weeks ago???

You need to check the oil with the dipstick (wipe in down a few times) to see if it looks like a chockalate milk shake. If coolent has made its way into the oil you have blown head gasket. The fuel pump which is usually in the gas tank in most gm vehicles would not cause white smoke, if it failed you car would not start because your engine would not get any gas to the injectors

Engine is over heating and blowing air into coolant resivor and boiling coolant

The blowing of air into the coolant resevour is caused by a leaking head gasket. What's happening is the cylinder is blowing air into the cooling system causing this to happen.
