Land rover flange conversion

I'm converting my 96 disco 300tdi rear prop to a 200tdi prop and flange conversion kit because of continued rubber coupling problems due to the lift that's on my 300tdi.
Would love some advice on the flange conversion kit proceedure please. Prop change no problem, just unsure how to install flange conversion. Thanks.

I have done this for a customer. Firstly you need to remove the old flange, presumably you have the flexi coupling drive. You will need a slide hammer to pull out the centre pilot shaft of the flange, then remove the flange nut and flange.
Then you need to space out the new flange using a large washer between the bearing and flange. Use a depth guage so you now how much clearnce you require. Then refit the flange and nut, refit the prop.
You dont need to change the diff, thats more expense and time lost
Hope this helps

Easiest way to sort your problem is to change the diff for a 200tdi / Range Rover classsic one, You need a later 24 spline, or you'll have to change the halfshafts too.... then remember when you break it

My 300tdi disco 1996 powersteering fluid has dropped and I have topped this up however my pump is now making a noise and the fluid is frothy , what can be the problem?

This is likely a faulty pump unit. When they get worn internally they tend to "froth" or airate the fluid. Could you see where the fluid was leaking from?

98 disco 300tdi with rear wheel bearing problems

I would just replace the bearings, They're not that expensive and they're quite easy to replace. After replacement, if it happens again on the same wheel, you probably have a bent semi-axel. I had this exact problem on a '93 200tdi disco.

Gear box

Hi Steve, without knowing a bit more about your disco, ie, age, 200 or 300tdi, can you get all the gears when in 4x4 ?,it might be difficult to pinpoint your fault, but going on your first description i would say that the high range on your transfer box could be the problem. Do you have a local transmission repair workshop to you?, they should be able to confirm this for you
