Question about 1983 Cadillac Eldorado
I have a 1983 cadillac eldorado with v8 ht4100 250 it will only start if i spray starting fluid into the fuel injected carb. if i accelerate it , the cars wants to bogg down and shut off. if i continue to spray starting fluid it will stay on. i looked inside and it looks to be getting gas from injectors. i have done alot to this car. new fuel pump & filter, new plugs, wires, cap, rotor and everything inside distributor, new temperture sensors, new map sensor, new tps sensor, check lines for air leaks. i had rebuilt the injectors and still nothing, thought it was the regulator in the carb. so i went to junk yard and replaced it with an used one. also changed out the oil and radiator fluids, and air filter, ran alittle smoother, but same issues as previously mentioned. it seems like i am not getting enough fuel. when we replaced the fuel pump, we took out all the gas, and it was very clean. i read in the manuel, that the temp sensor, map, tps, speed control, all control the air and fuel...the only other thing that it might be is the ecm computer..what do you think??? have spent alot of money on this car. it is werid, car was running great , then all of a sudden, it bogged down and shut off. barely made it home. i thought maybe it would be something simple like a fuel pump or distributor, but i have had no luck fixing this car. i have asked every mechanic i know. i know the car also has it own way of showing codes, to guide you in the right direction. been reading up on this. seems alittle confusing. if i could get the codes, maybe it will send me in the right direction. i have this feeling its going to be the ECM computer. i have also read that sometime the computer is grounded correctly, or losing connection..i am going to remove computer tonight, so i can get the serial # or part # to see if i can find one, do you think i have missed something???

The coolant sensor is on the front of the engine next to the thermostat housing where the upper radiator hose meets the engine.
The manifold pressure sensor (MAP) is on the firewall and looks like the picture below.
The ECM is in the right pillar to the right of the passenger's feet.
Please let me know if you have more questions.
See pictures below.
