When trying to start it clicks like the starter is bad. jumper cables it starts right up. while running it makes a noise from the rear of the car and every time it makes the noise all lights dim,(head lights, dash, dome, trunk, ect) sounds like its coming from the emergency shut off for the fuel. any suggestions?

next is jumper cable jump start to good running helper car battery.
that cuts cause in 1/2 , 15min works.

the alternator lamp will not go out until the engine runs..
the alt converts engine horse power to electric power,
no engine, no alt.
so that means the engine will not start, or better it wont crank

The just clicks is aways a bad connection causing low voltage at the starter, But the starter can be bad or ( hung in) Turn the engine by hand to se that it will turn if you hear a loud click when you turn the engine the starter ws hung, The starter being loose or worn out will let the gear climb up on a tooth of the flywheel. once cleared it may start right up. if there's alot of gear noise then the starter and or the ring gear (flex plate) may be damaged and need to be replaced. Low voltage is most ofte the cause, The old batery being bad or the new one being low, ( not charged) is most often the cause. After turning the engine, With jumper cables connected to another running car try again, Try hooking the ground cable of the jumper cables right to the engine block or case of the starter. if ti starts this way and not after you unhook the cables you have a cable connection from the battery to the block or the positive cable where it hooks to the starter bad
1st check the connections at the battery for corrosion, clean and make sure you have a tight connection. Bring the battery to a parts store, they will check it's condition for free. It may be bad, and all you need to do is replace it. If they find it's not charged fully, bad connections at cables or alternator may be to blame.
IF ITS MAKING A CLICKING NOISE WONT TURN OVER.CHECK BATTERY CABLE FOR TIGHTNESS AND NO CORROSSION. THE BATTERY VOLTAGE. SHOULD BE 12.5 VOLTS.IF NOT HAVE IT CHARGED AND TESTED.IF ITS GOOD HAVE ALTERNATOR CHECKED OUT.IF BOTH IS GOOD HAVE THE STARTER REMOVED TO HAVE IT AND THE STARTER SOLENOID TESTED.NOTE DUE TO LOCK OUT FEATURE.TURN OFF RADIO SO YOU WONT LOSE CODE WHEN YOU DISCONNECT NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE.
Check tightness of the clamps on battery & make sure the earth cable is tight from battery to engine, also check tightness of nut holding the cable 2 starter motor if all ok there its most probably the solenoid on top of starter motor replace this with new all will b ok.
