WHERES THE FUEL SHUT OFF SWITCH ON 01 AVALANCHE

If your referring to a inertia fuel shut off switch like fords have , your vehicle doesn't have one of those . Your vehicle has a fuel pump relay that is controlled by the PCM/ECM - engine computer . If the relay is bad or if the engine computer does not see a input from the crankshaft position sensor the fuel pump won't run . Videos on youtube showing how to test GM fuel pump electrical circuit . But first hooking a fuel pressure gauge to test fuel pressure before assuming the pump isn't working should be done .

Only Ford products use an inertia switch for the fuel system.

There isn't one & they only open in an accident !

fuel safety shut off valve/switch on uk r/h drive accents is on the engine bay bulkhead in front of drivers side it is a square box with red rubber top press button may be on opposite side on l/h drives ? if activated? just press button till click ? to reset these normally only cut off on impact ? to stop elec fuel pump continuing delivering if involved in an R.T.A fire prevention

more than likely burned out fuel pump need to replace unit, problem is it comes as a complete unit, pump and sending all in one. I have the same issue estimate cost $246 for unit and time if you do it yourself with some help, or lots if you take it to a pro.

the fuel pump runs off the engines oil pressure switch upon starting. when the oil pressure is up to normal psi the fuel pump relay takes over until you shut the engine off.

It's on the drivers side of the firewall, just above the brake pedal. You should see the red button on the inertia switch.
