Dear Daveleet,

Have you checked all of the bulbs and the wiring? You might also have a problem further in the wiring loom that you cannot easily access. Try checking for continuity, if you get an audible beep from this then it is likely that your wiring is not at fault.

Please do let me know what more you have tried and I will advise what your other options are, but remember this is an old car, so things are going to wear out, because these components have a service life. Anyway, get in touch and with pictures of the wiring, and the bulb and I will advise.

Yours sincerely

Ouszen

SOURCE: lowbeam headlight not working

I went to the dealer, the parts for this are back ordered... must be a common problem.

The terminal clips weaken over time, then fail. They need to be replaced, if you go the the Volvo dealer and ask they may help you out. Failing that, you could contact Volvo directly and ask them. They may make good for you. If nobody will help you, maybe the NHSTA should know about this saftey defect...

SOURCE: how do you resolve low beam bulb failure?

I CHECKED THIS ISSUE OUT FOR YOU. ALL YOU ARE REQUIRE TO DO IS REPLACE THE LOW BEAM.. GO TO ANY ADVANCED ATUO PARTS STORE AND PICK UP FOR ABOUT$13.. WHEN INSTALLING THE NEW LOW BEAM USE A RAG, OR CLOTH TO HANG ON THE GLASS OF THE NEW BULB..YOU CANT USE YOUR FINGERS TO PUT THE NEW BULB IN, THE OILS OFF OF YOUR FINGER TIP WILL MESS WITH THE LIFE OF THE NEW LOW BEAM... SHOULD BE A VERY SIMPLE TASK.. GOOD LUCK KEITH...

Low beam head lights not working - The low beams, both stopped working. The high beams work fine. I checked the fuses and all 4 are good. I even swapped the low and high beam fises just in case. No...

if the fuses are good then you need to check for power and ground at the headlight plug that attaches to the headlight bulb if you have a good power and ground there and the connections are good then the bulbs are both no good.or if you can tell the bulbs are burnt out by looking at them then you don`t have to check powers and grounds.you also can directly feed power and ground to the bulb and check both the terminals for high beam and low beam as you cannot tell which is which by looking at the terminals

Hi, check the low beam relay, relay's for the headlights should be either near the fusebox, or under the engine compartment, if not this may be hi/lo beam switch, hope this helps :)

1998 toyota rav 4. Right side low beam headlight doesn't work. Hi beam on that side does. Checked fuses, they appear OK, and tried 2 other headlights. Left side hi and low working fine.

sounds like there is a broken wire. the only advise i can give you is to follow the hot wire for that light untill you find the break in the wire.

My passenger side low beam headlight is out. the driver side low beam headlight works fine. I replaced the bulb and the headlight still doesn't work. What should I look at next?

Check the fuse. There are seperate fuses for right and left. You dont mention if the high beam works for that side? If it does, the fuse is good. The GREEN wire at the bulb is the ground for the low beam. If that wire has power, then the ground is bad. If the high beam works, the hi'lo beam switch is good, and there is a problem between that headlight and the Engine Compartment Junction Block

1997 turned headlights on and had no lights low or high beam

If I'm correct, that year range had sealed beam headlights. Either way, first thing I would check would be the fuses. A blown fuse explains no hi or lo beams pretty well. After ruling out any fuse issues, check the bulbs to see if they are blown - not likely both would go at same time but not impossible. Fuses fine and bulbs fine, issue has to be somewhere in wiring harness. That is the worst case scenario since you'll need a multi-meter and a ton of time.

Headlights wont work

Fuse 22 and fuse 23 are left and right low beam headlamp fuses located in the PDC. 23 and 24 are high beam fuses. There is also a low beam and a high beam relay in PDC as well. If no headlights work I would check for main switch or multifuction switch (wiper/high beam) since each light has its own fuse and relay.

Low beam headlights not working on 2004 Pontiac Montana extended

You headlight lamp have a diffuser mechanism which allows it to flip between the hight beam and low beam feature of the bulb. In fact, you high beam will function even if the low beam is not working.

I would recommend the purchase of the new headlight lamp. It would cost you you any where from $15.00 per unit to get a replacement lamp
