You might try bleeding air out of cooling system. Elevate front of car on ramps and leave running. Remove radiator cap before engine gets hot. When engine starts to heat up, air bubbles may come out of top of radiator. Add coolant slowly as level drops. It may take a long time for car to warm up (15-20 minutes)
i had the same problem with my 02 altima..behind the temp knob was broken and the cable to open and close the heat vent ..was no longer connected...to check turn knob from red to blue a few times and listen for vent door movement...also u can look on left side of console to see if cable is moving.
I have the same issue. I found that the plastic gear under the stearing wheel is stripped and it automatically rotates to the cold function. Seems like a simple fix but i went to nissan today and of course they want to sell me the whole heater box. its easily accessable to check it out. You can see where the cable comes from your hot/cold knob.
Did the switch break because it was stuck? If so, then yes, they will have to change actuators and doors. Does the fan work on all speed setting? If so then you do not need a blower resistor. The resistor pack only controls the current flow to change speeds of the fan.
