Stalls immediately after starting.

Hello, Recently my GLS 6spd. with 39k smoothly stalls less than 1 sec. after releasing the starter. I pop the key out and try again. After 1 to 3 tries, it starts normally. It's a leased car with turn in in 8mos. so unless it quits altogether, I'll live with it. Taking an intermittant problem to a dealer is too often a waste of time. Thanks, Dan

    I have this same problem with my 2006 VW Passat 2.0L T w/30k miles. Seems worse if the weather is colder or it sits outside...

    I have the same problem, 2006 VW Passat 2.0t. It started a few weeks ago. I went to start the car and received a steering wheel lock failure. I jiggled the steering wheel, heard a mechanical click, then started the car. I had no problems for the next few days, then randomly it would start and stall out immediately. This time there were no warning lights or informational messages on the console. After a few attempts, it started with no problem. It seems to be completely random and will happen whether the engine is warm or cold, doesn't matter if it is in the garage or outside. Once started, it runs perfectly fine.

You almost have to treat these 2.0T vw's like a diesel, mine does the same start stall game. I find that if you just put the key in and let it go through its system checks it somehow makes this problem stop. I always jump in and justy fire the car right up, then it started doing the stalling problem. i started putting the key in the dash the whole way without starting it, letting the yellow steering wheel light go out and let it quit doing all its dings and whatnot. then start it and havnt had the problem since

I had this same problem with my 2006 Passat 2.0L T w/24K miles (actually would take as many as 12 times to start) - it's currently at the dealer and they are replacing the entire steering column - glad it's under warranty.

Won't restart if I remove the key from ignition

First of all you sure the key is not working properly. Sounds more like you have a fuel pump issue. Dealt with alot of gm trucks and suvs with same symptoms. Might want to consider checking that out.

While I am driving, the car just stalls. It

If its an ignition switch problem the car will stall if you wiggle the key back slightly and if you quickly switch it back will it continue running. Otherwise i would replace the main fuel relay which sometimes fail when hot, then start working again when they cool down.

1997 ford f-150 stalls if i sit or idle

Hello;
First we need to ascertain the problem. When the vehicle stalls, does it start up immediately? Does it blow smoke out the exhaust on restart? Before it stalls, does it chug and sputter or act like you turned the key off? ALso, which engine and transmission have yoou in this truck?
Thanks;
