Rover 25 dash lights not working

Have you checked your fuses? This is the first place I look when probs with dash/lights come up. Daddy taught me well. Another excellent source of troubleshooting and repair is a Chiltons/Haynes repair manual for your make/model/year vehicle.

Cam belt/water pump for Rover 25

if all the other rollers and tensioners have covered 37000miles and they need changing why leave the water pump,it has as much tension on it as the rest of the tensioners......if they wont change it ask them to guarantee it against failure if they are that confident it shouldnt be a problem,or if it does fail will they pay for the replacement cylinder head/engine ?because it will destroy it !!!!!!
