Question about 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland

Open Question

I have a 2007 jeep grand Cherokee loredo 4x4, loved the jeep until today when I got off work. Went out to my car put the key in and started it and it shut off after about three second or so and it started the first few times then shut itself off, sounded great just shut off then after like the third time it would even turn over I had a half a tank of gas and had been driving it earlier that day.... Just recently had the oil changed and the checked all my fluids, tried to do the reprogramming for the sentry key that was in the manual and it's like it's not reading the key.... Oh and FYI the only reason I think it's the anti theft system is because the red light will flash when the key is in the on position.

SOURCE: 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee won't start after battery

I just replaced my battery today and noticed a switch that the battery sits on. I havent looked in to it but I would guess the car wont start or maybe even not turn over it it thinks the battery has moved from where it belongs. Hope this helps some.

SOURCE: how do i override/reset anti theft system?

this does not sound like an antitheft problem. the SKIS systems in the jeeps will allow the truck to start, but it will turn off again after 5 seconds.

FYI if your jeep key is gray, it has the SKIS system. if it is a black key, it does not.

have you already done diagnostics for a no start? if you are lacking fuel or spark, you need to look elsewhere for the problem if it does not start at all. good luck!

SOURCE: 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee won't CRANK - battery is fine.

What is the current status? I purchased a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee from CarMax in December, 2009. The first time it wouldn't start was the beginning of March. The dealership could not duplicate the issue. Happened again a month later, they said it was the wireless remote module and that was replaced. Couple months later, happened again. They said it was the key module. That was replaced. Friday night, happened again. I'm waiting for a tow truck Monday morning. Does anyone know the real underlying issue and the resolution?

I have a 95 jeep loredo . reverse light is not working , I checked the bulbs and fuses and they all good, I also change the neutral switch, still han no reverse light, any suggestion?

The neutral switch is so that you can't start your vehicle in a gear (drive, reverse, ect.) your looking to replace the backup lamp switch. Not sure where its located on your jeep but that sounds like the problem. Happy hunting!

My car won't start. Battery is good, wires are good and there is no corrosion. When I turn the key it makes one click and that's it. The lights and the radio work fine. There is no dimming when I try to...

could be the starter. check under vehicle near "rear" of engine for a cylindrical item with a wire connection. should have an "arm" that moves forward with "teeth" to turn flywheel with. some people beat on their starter with a wrench to get it to work. use wd40 to loosen any dirt that may be preventing the arm from operating.

My Jeep Grand Loredo 2004 cruise control went out

Check the vacuum hoses it is easy to notice if one is missing or not. If that doesn't work, I'd try the cruise control switch. Hope this helps
