this is more a job for a contortionist than a member of public. you will find that at one position half down and half up(not exact) but you will be able to just about get your hands in enough to push them together. also yu should find a little chisle shaped thing in the ball and socket connection which you will have to pull out to enable them to go together, remembering to puish back in when connected.

undoo the two bolts that hold the lifter to the bottom of the window glass then you should be able to twist it ,sounds like you need new runners or something is loose causing one of the guide rails to move

check the fuses in the car under the dash on driver side ,only other thing it could be is the power wire in the driver door jam could have a broken ground that is one way it would affect all the windows.
