Yes it's the heater core, It's a complicated diy job and unless you are an experienced mechanic you are going to need a good workshop manual for the job.

Best of luck.

So, my 2001 V8 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo is very slowly leaking coolant. I replaced the heater core in 2009 and the symptoms that the Jeep expressed then are not happening now. However, the low coolant...

are you mixing the coolant with water if yes,you need to just put straight up anti freeze ,because water evaporates at high temperatures .. also keep resorvoir full at all times there is a sensor in the tank that when is low it makes the check coolant light come on ,,....good luck

No heat does this mean the heater core is bad? I have a 2001 jeep Could it be in the heater dial? Do they make a cleaner to run through the heater core to open it up?

IT COULD ASO BE A THERMOSTAT CHECK YOUR TEMP MAKE SURE ITS A 210 STANDARD FOR THAT JEEP IF IT IS OK THEN CHECK AND MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ENOFF ANTI-FREEZE IN YOUR RADIATOR AND RESOVOR IF ALL THIS IS OK YES I WOULD SAY DEFF ITS A HEATER CORE OR SWITCH BUT IF AC WORKS ON SWITCH AND WHEN YOU TURN IT TO HEAT IT GETS A LIL WARMER THEN THE SWITCH IS OK REPLACE HEATER CORE THEY DO ROT MAINLY IF YOU USE WATER IN YOUR RADIATOR AND NOT ANIT-FREEZE THE ANTI-FREEZE IS A LUBRICANT AND WILL NOT CORRODE YOU RADIATOR OR HEATER CORE IN THE FUTURE, AND I AM NOT SURE IF THERE IS A CLEANER BUT IT MORE THAN LIKELY WONT HELP IT COULD BUT PROB WONT BUT WORTH A TRY,

My jeep passenger floor stays wet. could it be the heater core or the evaporater core?

I would think the drain hose for the evaporator core has come off or is clogged. If it was the heater core, you would smell anti-freeze and there would be some steam asscociated with it.

??? heater core

If you smell antifreeze, the problem would be the heater core.
Another indication is when you turn on the defroster and see a oily film on your windshield.
The heater core would have to be replaced.
In order to do this the whole dashboard would have to come out to get the heater box out.
In a dealer the process would take about 4 hours from qualified mechanics who have done this before.
