SOURCE: Hi just need to now points gap is on my 84 yn65 3y

Generally the point gap is between .018 and .020 inch on just about any engine. If you set the points in that range it should be just fine.

My father's toyota hilux with a 3y engine was overhaul, but now it fails to start. Please can you help with the timing setting of the engine.

Are you sure the timing is bad?
a Chilton manual can tell you how to set the timing in great detail and it is a very good idea to have it around. They are not that expensive.

If the car starts but spits out of the carb when you accelerate then check the CATALYITC CONVERTER. If the car overheated and sent coolant to the CAT then it melts the inside and blocks the exhaust.
