SOURCE: transmission is slipping on 1992 Chevrolet Caprice Classic

Dude.. You need to adjust the TV cable or it is broken. It runs from the throttle to the transmission. It sounds like it is starting off in the wrong gear. All of this is due to that cable man! Have it checked out before it burns the trans out! Also; make sure it is full on fluid, and DO NOT over fill it. After you have driven it for a while, stop on level ground, put it in park, and check the dipstick. check it many times, and go by the low side of the stick. It may read up there on one side but low on the other, and if this is the case it is low. The fluid should show full on both sides of the stick. When changing the filter, there is a grommet type seal that goes up in the valve body, and they are very hard to change without the proper tool to do it with. A common mistake is some people think the old one is out and put the other one in, and have two in it. This will cause all kinds of problems. If that seal gets damaged it will **** air and cause the trans to give problems. Good Luck!

SOURCE: cutting off while driving

Try checking fuel pressure again with a guage on the fuel rail. If you still notice the pressure is low and you know the fuel pump is good, the fuel pressure regulator may be bad. Sometimes you can tell by unplugging the vacuum hose from it and if you see gas that means the diaphram is leaking. If everything checks out with the fuel system a bad EGR valve or EGR valve solenoid can cause cars to sort of stall under half throttle. Good luck and keep me posted. SOURCE: Chevy Caprice Classic Transmission, car won't go after warmed up

Unfortunately, this transmission will need a rebuild. this is much more than a filter or seal. what has happened here is, the gear ratio is all out of whack.

SOURCE: my speedometer went out on my 95 chevy caprice

It may be the speed sensor in the transmission,I do not think it has a speedometer cable, but check the sensor first, then if you need a speedometer,,the dealer,or the junkyard.

GM experts please advise on THM700R4

If the transmission has never been service "oil and filter changed" All the metal and dirt in the fluid may have caused the transmission to fail. There are valves and servo's that the fluid flows through and when dirt plugs up the passages or jams a valve open causing the transmission to slip slightly would make a transmission to fail. Check the transmission fluid level and condition and also check the transmission kick down cable from the throttle body. Good luck and hope this helps.

Have you checked the transmission fluid, being too low will cause it to act like it's in neutral

Transmission leak 94 caprice classic

If its in the line its self just cut the line in two and take some fuel line hose, the right diameter, slip it over the line with a couple of clamps and that should fix it. Theres not much pressure there and its a cheap fix.
