My 2003 Rendezvous has a vibrating noise coming from the rear end when I hit holes or bumps in the road. Three different dealers say they can find nothing wrong in the rear end. Help!

My 02 Rendezvous has an exhaust related vibration noise that is mostly annoying when I press on the gas pedal quickly. At times it really hums loud. Mostly when its cold outside. I have checked for loosness in the muffler, pipes, or mufler hangers, and heat shields. Cannot find problem, don't want to replace a muffler if its not broken. Any suggestions?

I have a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. There is a "violent" vibration that occurs only when you are going 40-60 MPH and you hit a bump or pot hole on the highway. The front end begins to...

Vibration from about 40-60 mph is usually attributed to wheel balancing, but the onset when you hit a bump seems to indicate play in the steering linkages (tie rods etc) or suspension members and stabiliser bar rubbers but you had that all checked out, that brings us back to the wheel balancing.

Our 2003 kia spectra has a metalic rattle when you drive over uneven pavement or speed bumps. we ckeck suspension brakes wheel bearings shocks exshaust what is it

The heat shields that are positioned between the exhaust pipe and floorboard or between the exhaust pipe and sensitive electrical components are made of very cheap, thin, tin-like metal. When they rust on one side, one of the tabs comes loose and the whole shield will vibrate especially when accelerating. Since you are getting the noise when you hit a bump, you might check the area where you stow the spare tire (loose tools may be vibrating against the metal). Also the plastic protective pieces behind front bumper sometimes tear and will "flap' against the car and sound like a metallic vibration when you hit a bump especially if you were stuck in snow recently. Look for loose plastic pieces.

2003 Rendezvous - AWD lamp + noise & vibration from rear.

When my AWD light comes on is has always been due to uneven pressure in the tires. This is hard to believe but has worked up to now and I have 95K miles on it. It started happening around 60K. Changing the tires is another option. I would have the brakes checked if you have a noise from the rear end.
