A ford territory 2006 that won't start, even after replacing battery?

check for battery voltage at the large terminal on the starter. THere should be power at all times.

Have a helper turn the key to the crank position while you check for power on the smaller wire at the starter. There should be power anytime the key is in the crank position.

If there is power at both terminals than the starter is bad. If there is no power at the large wire check your battery connection. If there is no power at the the small wire you will need to trace it back to its origin.

Usually an electrical part which fails as it gets hot, such as coil, ignition module, crank sensor.

Truck fires really well but wont start, seems like no fuel

Please define "fire power". Is this just the power from the battery swinging the engine, or did you check if there is a healthy spark on the plug wires? If an engine dies without warning, the chances are very good it is the crank angle sensor in which case there will not be any spark on the wires even though the starter will swing the engine quite lustily without starting.

Changed water pump on a 92 eagle talon. we got the timing marks right, but the car won't turn over. Been working on for about 3 weeks. help

what do you mean by "won't turn over"??,does something stop a piston(s) from making its cycle?,interference engine (valves hitting pistons on its stroke). Do you mean it cranks but doesn't start? and if so,did you check for spark and timing for that cylinder????

Car wont crank

"Turn over" and "crank" are the same thing. Does the starter engage and the engine turn over? If not then you may have a bad wire on the starter, which is a common problem. If it does turn over but won't start then you either have no spark and/or no fuel and you need to have a technician look it over.

I have a 1993 crown vic and I just replaced all my fuses and I drov e tk wal mart and all of a sudden my car will not crank....all the lights come on it goes in gear it just wont turn over the dash just...

Sounds like the starter failed> If you have a small hammer lightly rap on the starter acouple of times > if it starts that will confirm you need a starter> Repkace the starter ASAP. if not call a tow truck> NOTE: don't get burned if the vehicle is hot > let it cool down.

It turns over approx 3 to 4 times, then stops (lights go off, engine stops turning over), within 2 seconds and with the key still in the start position the lights come back on and the engine starts...

The starter has a thermal safety switch on it which is suppose to stop the starter from cranking when the starter is overheated to prevent damage to the starter. This switch is not working properly therefor stopping the starter from working. You have to replace the starter to correc this problem.

My car has difficulty starting after being turned off for a long time (12hours or so). You need to turn the key and crank it alot to get started (i usually crank for about 4 seconds stop then crank again...

I would go after the starter, if your starter is weak or ready to seize this will be the symptom, it could also be a fuel delivery issue, if the fuel pump is not working up to pace it wont send deliver fuel.

Good luck.
