Question about 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee

ENGINE DIES When starting you have to rev eng. to 3000 rpm's or it just dies. It will idle if u do the rev eng bit !

    I think the problem wae not enough power from battery .A repair shop cut off original battery post connecters & installed cheep ones & where the striped cables connected was bad.

    my jeep is weak cranking up and to keep it running i have to keep the gas pedal down and when i let off the gas pedal it cuts off. what could this be?

Engine starts and rpm revs to 3000 - you take foot off of gas and rpm drops to 100 and the dies


any smoke coming out the tail pipe? is it black, carbon smoke? if so your catalatic converter is clogged. replace it.

Won't start, engine wont rev above 2000rpm


Have the alternator tested. You are providing a low charge to the battery when you jump it and when taking it above 2K RPM requires more amperage resulting in the engine dying and the rough idle

Like I said, odds are air fuel mixture. So if it's worse, you're probally right on not enough fuel. So either fuel filter or pump.

Mazda 626 engine cut off when excel over 3000 rmp


my 1988 mazda 626 starts okay then dies everytime it idles down to normal idle speed. i replaced the throttle control sensor and the mass air sensor. i replaced the rotor in the distributor but is still dies. if you throttle up to about 1500 rpm it keeps running. any ideas???
