Hi normally a foreign throttle body requires adaptation with diagnostic equipment , to configure with ECU. Try cleaning the throttle with some solvents, Make sure all electrical sockets are connected firmly.
Check the transmission cooler. If the transmission starts to run hot , it will start to shift hard. The cooler could be clogged and the transmission is not being properly cooled. Also check the fluid you used. GM transmissions can require a special additive that is in the fluid. especially if it has any type of positraction or traction control.
Its located on the side of the air horn . Remove the air duct from the top of the air horn and look down inside you will see the throttle plate .T he TPS is the throttle pisition sensor . So everytime the plate moves so dose the sensor A shaft runs through the throttle plate so it can povit .The TPS sensor is on the end of this shaft but on the out side of the air horn Its also a a big time ware part because it moves everytime the gas pedal is moved
The problem is with your oxgen sensor bank one sensor 1 witch is bacisly the first one in line . The problem is likely a sympton of an emissionins related issue . EGR valve Throttle pisition sensor Idle air control valve Possibale a cloged fuel filter or dirty air filter . Bank 1 sensor 1 02 senser is the cloested one to the front of the vehicle and in the exhust manifold there should be one in each manifold and a couple more in the Y pipe . You need a spical socket to remove them costs about 20.00 bucks and the sensor ranger from 20 dollars to 100 depending what you have . This may correct the problem in the short term but keep an eye on the engine light if it comes back on read the code / s right away to prevent any damage to the catylitc converter
The TPS sensor is going to be located on the throttle body. Starting at the air intake box, work your way toward the engine, following the air intake hose. When it connects to the throttle body, you will see a small sensor that has wired plugs in it and to it. That is you TPS sensor. They are easy to replace, usually only a couple of screws, or nuts holding it on.
Code 11 means the system passes witch is not the case the OBD 1 systems have a lot of exceptions from vehicle to vehicle and year to year . 13 is the idle tracking motor is out of sink with the throttle plate 24 is the air charge sensor and 52 has to do with the idle tracking moter as well. I wouldn't worry for now about these. 32 On the other hand is the EGR valve or if you have a pressure feed back solenoid on the back of your carburator .But the problem is most likely the EGR pisition sensor or the EGR valve it self good luck
Its a 4.3 my first though would be if your not getting codes it throttle pisition sensor although it could be idle air control or EGR valve passages are clogged with carbon. Ihave the same thing except its in a blazer. Your going to have to pull some things off and look for things that don't look clean iac and egr although tps would be the first thing i would test you can do this a volt meter set to ohms take it off hook the meter to it and turn the inside of it if the meter dosn't go up evenly like the volume on a raido and starts ot jump around in a certin spot its no good
This could be many differant things but the first thing i would is the throttle cable see if its frayed any loose wires that have broken this will make it hang up. For this to happening the throttle plate must be open or else it wouldn't be getting enough air to allow the engine to run that fast so check to see if the throttle plate is fully closeing. If thats not closeing then you could check the throttle pisition sensor that is derictely connected to the throttle plate shaft it runs stright through the plate at 90 degrees to see if that is hanging up and restricting the plate from seating correctly
my car is choking and dieing coming to a stop its a 81 elco wit 89 tuneport motor vinf i changed the throttle pisition sensor /egr valve/sender/the owner said he change the fulepump. i notice a few times not all the time wen u rev the motor and let off the gas the idle drops then sets itself? and wen u put it in drive to take off if u hit the gas it hessitate a little? i need some help!!! marvin
