Question about 1988 Honda Accord 4 Door

1 Answer

Multiple problems: 1. the ligher output/ heater blower/ car revs high

First, I will start with the small stuff... the lighter 12v output does not work, it is not the fuse, how can I fix this? 2. The heater blower went out, I went to auto zone to replace it and they gave me the wrong size, I wnet to take it back , lost receipt and they said this should fit. Several " mechanics" have tryed it. It does not fit. Where can I find the right size of blower (cheap) to fit? 3. the main problem: the car kindop rumbles at first when it starts up, after awhile.. 5 min, the care starts sounding better and then it all of the sudden starts reving up amps high. I have to kick the gas several times to get it to relase and the car seems to be runniing hot. I have no idea what this is and how can I fix this? Any suggestions? I really would appreciate some good advice ....

Where is the heater blower relay on my 1995 jeep grsnd cherokee

why post easter egg hunts? why not instead post symptoms first
then ask if car has one.
DOES THE BLOWER fail on HIGH too? (this tests the relay in its other mode and fresher contacts? does it?)

the blower is dead no HIGH, ? the fuses are good. (all are)

JB fuse 8 and PDC fuse 11 are it, JB is cab, PDC is engine bay
PDC fuse only runs HIGH speed.
so the blower relay?
and resistor block in blower is bad.
FSM quote page 25 HVAC chapter (posted like 100 times now)
the relay is at the "right end of heater-AC housing, below instrument panel" unquote.

seen here.
under ZJ

real easy to test 5min with a volt meter
see last changer wiring, for tests points.
if the relay output is hot , it s good.

diagnose in HIGH is most easy
12v across coil a must
12v on both top right contact
and 12vdc out of relay,
if inputs are good to relay and output is bad the relay is bad.
easy. with just 3 jabs of meter probe ,.

How do i fix a heater in a 91 jeep cherokee laredo?

fails on high, need this first.....@!!!!

if it fails on high then you hot wire the blower,

does the blower work with 12vdc applied to it, unpugged?

very old car.

use alldata.com to get the FSM data. and schematics.

got 12v below.

the switch bypasses the resistor block on high, so high is first

use a 10 buck DMM volt meter at walfart.

got 12v to the blower?

got 0v on that blower bottom pin?

if yes, the blower is dead

if not, then the fuse is blown, (use a voltmeter) or the switch left is bad. (or any wire bad end to end)

to check a fuse, check both sides key on, blower in, for 12vdc.

if once side is 0v, the Fuse is in fact bad. (acid test)

Where is the Heater Blower Motor Relay on a 1997 Camry ?

why not post symtoms? is cab heater blower dead on HIGH??????
there are 5 fuses, just related to heat.
the blower relay is in the engine bay box 1 , far end marked HTR.

on high the relay coil 1 and blower pin 1 are grounded
the relay closes, if and only if the 10 amp heater fuse is good.
the relay then outputs 12v to blower in 2 and the motor RUNS.
that is it.
alldata.com read there.
or buy FSM for full facts. and schematics.

Ac blower motor stopped working

YJ car.
the blower is dead. is that it?
does it blow full speed on high
do you have 12v on terminal A of blower , term B is 0v ground
got that, then the blower is dead.
if not 12v, then the controls are bad.
http://www.jeep4x4center.com/knowledge-base/index.htm?utm_source=cj#service

page 47
4 parts to make blow
1: fuse 12 good.
2: switch heater /on off.
3: high, med,low speed, use high, its direct.
4: the blower,
one of those points has no 12v on high,
use a simple voltmeter to find the failed point.

Heater fan motor

see huge section in FSM, under HVAC. long hard job.
why not test the motor, first....?????
does high fail>?
does the motor hot wire test. fail
are both fuses good, IG -meter fuse and rear defroster.
if either fuse blows, the RELAY and blower fails.
so ... check voltage at relay output , BL/w wire, if not 12v, the fan will be dead.
all this and more at alldata.com
or in the FSM
relay is behind glove, box, remove the box. with 1 screw.

Ligher

Did you make sure there is a wire going to the back of the lighter receptacle? Just stick a light probe in the middle of the lighter well, and see if it lights up. There is supposed to be battery voltage in the middle of the hole. Sometimes the those lighter elements, the part that you use to start your cigar, burn out. Those replacements are about $4.

Heater blower only blows on low

This could be a few different things:

1.Check the power and ground connections on your blower motor, corrosion can cause high resistance and a slow blower speed.

2. Check your available voltage at the blower motor on the different settings. it should vary with high supplying 12volts, make sure to do this check with the blower motor still plugged in.

3. Connect the blower to a 12v power source and see if it runs at high speed.

If all else fails i would check your resistor pack, i would not suspect this because when it fails you usually just loose all speeds except for high, but it could happen.

2006 dodge grand caravan cigerette ligher fuse

May be with other accessories like radio, or something. Might need to purchase a cheap 12v test light. Always good to have one around for such problems.

No power to radio, cigarette lighter

This one's the fusebox in the interior of the car; usually below the steering wheel in a panel with a thumbscrew that you just give a quarter-turn, then catch it as it opens; inside are some fuses, which tend to be obvious when they are blown. There's a little legend that tends to be well-lit too, indicating which fuses were for the ligher/'auxillary 12v power' socket. Don't let a failed lighter bust on you; a flaming car is much more expensive than tossing/replacing the bad part or plugging something else in.
