Dear jmelonas

if you see that there is a wire is broken or unplaced move it on it's original position(You can guess by matching colors and length of wires).see their clips if you find loosing, press it with a plaier.

if the problem persist make contatct with your mechanic.

88 e-150 302eng.have put new distributor, coil, module(on side of dist.)rotor,cap,wires.all it does is fire 1 spark when first turn over and most of the time 1spark when it stops, but never any where in...

Sounds like the timing is way off, get the #1 cylinder at TDC, then reset the distributor back in with the rotor at #1 on the cap, get it started and adjust timing from there. Also check the ignition switch and make sure its not damaged and making good contact.

I took out the distributor from the engine block now my car wont start what should i do?

if it was not turned over with distributor out of engine, turn over engine by the bolt on damper pulley to tdc ( top dead center ) theres a few marks on pulley ,then put in distributor with rotor button facing # 1 wire on distributor cap. this should do it!! have a good day!! the dist. will turn back about an eighth of an inch when putting in engine.so if it turns back, just insert to next step to line up with # 1 on cap.

I recieved Code 12 from diagnosis

For 83-86 Camry, 87 corolla, 84-87 pickups and 4-runner: Code 12 = knock sensor or circuit (distributor or circuit on Cressida, Supra, and Celica 3S-GE)

87-90 Camry, all other models 88-90: Code 12 = Rpm signal/no NE or G signal to ECU within several seconds after engine is cranked.

All models from 1991 on: Code 12 = Rpm signal No "Ne" signal to the ECM within several seconds after the engine is cranked. No "G" signal to the ECM two times in Succession when engine speed is between 500 rpm and 4000 rpm.

Oil is getting inside distributor cap, have new distributor on it . Its a 1989 Toyota Cressida

check you PCV system you are getting to much crankcase pressure and this is causing the oil in the distributor, if the PCV system is working then suspect to much blow-by from piston rings.

Replace the spark plugs and wires along with a distributor cap and rotor. Be careful to leave the old wires and plug wires connected to dist.cap, just remove dist. cap from the distributor and lay aside with plug wires on it then install rotor then new cap and proceed to replace each wire for cap and spark plug one at a time so you don't mix up the spark plug wire firing order. Cap laying to the side is used for reference purpose.

Remove the distributor cap and look to see that the rotor button is turning, and not stopping, the truck, may have jumped time. The timing chain may hve broke. If not, replace the pick up coil in the distributor.

Replaced entire ignition still no spark 88 305 ci

There are 3 possibilities. 1 the coil. 2 the ignition module. 3 the pick up coil. In my experience the ignition module is the most common cause. It is in the distributor held in with 2 screws. The coil and module can be tested at any parts house. Good Luck
