1995 trooper transmission light blinks when shift to drive

does the speed change at all? does the speedometer if you noticed is working? if the speedo is not working then the problem is your speed sensor on the gear box is not working and that is the reason the automatic transmission stayed on safe mode. renew the speedo and will work ok.

The light that says ''OFF'' on the shifter of my 2000 Diesel Excursion is blinking about one second on and one second off. I had heard certain sequences of that light means certain things but I never...

the blinking light is your over drive light, and yes it does blink a code for your trans. take to an auto parts store and have them read the codes. because of your irratic speedo it leads me to believe you have a bad speed sencor

My speedometer stop working, d light blinking and check comes out

These Accords have common problems with both the instrument clusters & the speedo drive Transducers. It is the Speedo Transducer I would head for first
though,it is located on the top rear of the transmission, over the diff assembly. This is in between where the driveshafts enter the transmission.
It is held in by 1 x 10mm bolt & has an electical connector clipped in to it which from memory has 3 wires. The connector is somewhat triangular in shape
& should be black. Check that this is not full of coolant from your recent thermostat change, however I doubt that this is the problem as they are sealed
pretty well. The chances are it is just faulty. This unit creates an electrical pulse which tells both the speedo & the transmission computer how
fast the vehicle is going. Without it the transmission computer will register a fault (D4 lamp flashing). It also informs the engine computer that there
is a problem which will activate the Check Engine Lamp.

Speedometer an check engine lights

Try to find the speedo-cable from the firewall down the the transmission. Usually on auto trannys the speedo head (the signal generator which is a gear basicly) is located on the top of the tranny, of course attached to the speedo cable. If it's a 'drive by wire' car and there's no cable - it will require more investigation.
