if it comes on at all, it's not a fuse.

Could be a short in the wiring harness or bad electrical conn behind the radio or lcd

Sounds like it's inside the radio, unless they mean an in-line fuse holder on the power wire leading into your radio. I would ask them again.
I don't think removing battery would help, but no harm in trying. Just take off your negative cable from battery, and it will be totally "as if" removed.

I have a 94 maxima and almost every time I had an electrical issue it was not the device, or the fuse, but the relay!

You have a 95 - which is the next generation maxima so don't know it will apply to your car. Almost all my relays were just to the right of the fuses - I had to remove a panel to access it (just remove a few screws).

To find out which one you can swap relays as long as the match (look at the picture on top of the relay). Go to www.maxima.org - it is a great resource.

sounds like the radio diaplay light is bad, you would have to take it to electric radid repair shop.or cheaper to replace.

Did you check the main fuse's in the engine bay ?
They live in a black plastic box , chunky looking things.
