Everything on my dash, gas gauge, spedometer wont work, it would be intermitently and youcould get it to come back by playing with the door locks but now it just wont come back.

It turns out that solution #2 worked for me! It's been a year now with no gage trouble at all! Rock solid!

I have heard that the solder joints connecting the wiring harness to the back of the instrument cluster have a history of being poor quality (1996-2001 models). Mine is a '98. I was able to get my gages back after pounding the dashboard *sometimes*, but never if it was wet or warm! Just today I removed the cluster and re-soldered those pins... after re-assembly, they are all working again! I did some close looking at the connections before I did any soldering, and yep, I saw cracks around two pins... power and ground! It took me about an hour to do this fix (but I have had this thing apart before). Time will tell if this really was the root cause.

I have the same problem with 99 GC. try slamming the dash just to the right of the steering wheel. If that gets it going it is probably a connection problem with the instrument cluster. Might need to remove cluster and resolder the pins for the lead wire, which creates stress on the pins over time.

Try removing the 10 amp fuse for the body control module for 20 minutes. Had same problem and thought it was the whole cluster. It reset after doing this and I have had no problems since. On my 99 Caravan it is the fuse mounted sideways by itself at the end of the underhood fuse panel.

My Gauges in my 97 Plymouth voyager quit working my gas gauge odometer temp gauge what sould I do ???? I took my dash off and plugged it back in and it started working some how I un plugged it when...

I am assuming you have it back in. If it is still working, I would fasten the plug to something solid to keep t attached. These things can be annoying sometimes especially working under the dash.

Speedometer, odometer, and gas gauge quit working

My guess would be a problem inside the cluster which will require a replacement or an electronics shop for repairs.
If everything died I would check the fuses and the connection behind the cluster. But all of the gauges get power from one source and they are grounded thru their separate sending units. So if some work and some don't it sounds like the printed circuit board in the cluster.

1982 F150 where are the fuse. Gas gauge not working just quit.

The fuse box is located up under the dash on the drivers side. The power regulator that controls the gas gauge is located on the back of the instrument panel mounted to the flexable circuit board. There isnt really a single fuse that controls the gas gauge. My guess(only a guess) is that your gauge is broken.

My gas and temp gauges dont work what should i do?

easyest way for these problems is to get complete unit, and built in your own spedometer. problem is caused by diode at the back of the gauges or by cracked flexible print.

My spedometer goes on and off in my 1995 dodge neon

Pull trim panel off around cluster, remove screws holding cluster in, unplug harness from rear of cluster, and remove cluster. Now with tweezers, or needle nose pliers, slightly twist or bend, ends of spade pins in cluster, where it mates with connector to allow for better contact with harness connector. Spray electrical, or contact cleaner in connector & on cluster pins before re-assembly. re-install & make sure connector tight to cluster. Not real difficult, you'll be fine. let me know how you make out.
