Blower motor Hey how you doin. I have a 1989 Buick Reatta that i was driving the other night and when i shut the car off the blower motor stayed running and blowing. any idea as to why this is happening. The only way i can shut it off is to get out open the hood and unplug it. could it be the climate control sensor? or what would cause it to stay on after the car is off and the keys are out?

Your blower controller has failed, It is located in the heater duct, above and to the passanger side away from the blower motor. There are two connectors that plug into it and two screws hold it in place. Other GM cars of the same vintage will use the same controller IF they have automatic air system.

Location of the blower motor relay on 1989 buick reatta

There is no relay.....there is a motor controller. located in the duct work, on the firewall, passanger side. it has two connectors and 3 screws that hold it into the ductwork. Common problem is the fan will not shut off when the ignition is turned off.

1989 Reatta: Motor Mechanism on the Headlamp doors do not open.

hello the only thing i can think of is that motor for the lifter is at fault, the motor has a set of switch on them to stop lifting and dropping if one of the switches has gone it will go off cog and be stuck as its a cog system you will not be able to move motor by hand. i would remove the motor and check to see if you can get it to work on a external power source. hope this helps

The blower motor resistor has to be changed. The part is in the wirng between the a/c control head and the blower motor.

You should take to a local shop for repairs.
