Question about 2000 Ford F250 Super Duty Crew Cabs
Hi yes i sure can i have the same year of truck you have also. ok your fuel filter will be on the top of your engine towards the front just in back of the cover that says powerstroke diesel. it will be a little round canister that twists off like a lid on a jar. but before you do that you will want to open the fuel/water seperator valve by sliding the little yellow plastic lever located just under the fuel filter. allow this to drain for like 5 seconds. then make sure you close it back up. then just twist the round canistor counter clockwise until the lid can be taken off. once it is off discard of the whole lid due to the new filter will come with a new lid. also throw away the gaskits because your new filter will come with new ones. just be careful and watch for the big gaskit that seals the lid to the canister this is the way you will want to install your new gaskit. beveled side up. but before you install the new gaskets and filter make sure you put a little either motor oil (15w40) or just diesel fuel on the gasket for lube so you do not tear the gaskit when you tighten the new filter lid. but anyways just lube the gasket and install. then just take the fuel filter and install it into the canister and tighten. but do not over tighten just a good snug will work. ( i just use my hands to tighen and loosen them) so there is no need to have to put a wrench on this. after that make sure you wipe up any spilled fuel. and then get into your truck and turn on the key the electric fuel pump will automatically prime and fill the canister with fuel just turn your key on and wait until your wait to start light comes on and then start it up. Make sure you climb back under the hood and fell with your hand to check for any leaks around the canister. after that you are all done. you should replace this filer with every 2nd or 3rd oil change.
