New battery turning over and still not starting

Before you go replacing starters plugs and fuel pumps, think simple. check for excess corrosion on the terminals or possibly in the cable itself. check you voltage drop between the battery and starter. generally .2 volts and the cable would need to be replaced. just a place to start and maybe save yourself some cashspan.jajahWrapper { font-size:1em; color:#B11196; text-decoration:underline; } a.jajahLink { color:#000000; text-decoration:none; } span.jajahInLink:hover { background-color:#B11196; }

1976 chevy stingray corvette, new battery it kicks in and sounds like it wants to start but it would start. Any idea why?

Mary...when you say "wants to start" I'm not sure if it turns over but won't start(sounds like lack of fuel or timing problem)or it won't turn over fast enough to start(again sounds like alternating problem and for a bit been running car off battery with no alternator till battery too low to turn engine over)...and what the heck is "starter fluid"???? No such thing.

Starts if boost it but wont start after that, new battery in it and altenator works, new battery leads cant find problem

Starts with a boost you have a bad battery terminal connection. Will the light turn on? If not turn on the headlamp and wiggle the battery terminals wire part you will not get shock I promise.

Truck won't start, new battery, lights keep flashing

Sometimes the new battery is not 100% charged. Put it on a charger or jump start the car, the alternator should then charge up the battery.
