Question about 2004 Ford F150
I have a truck that seems to run when it wants to. It will drive fine all day, you park at a store and when you come back out it doesn't start. then when you don't expect it, of course when the person towing shows up, it starts right up. will work for awhile the next time you jump in it , not start again. I replaced the fuel filter and fuel regulaer. still not working. Comment by jyztoy021, posted on Oct 20, 2008 I was told it was a fuel pump by a mechanic. We replaced that and it still didn't work. So we took it in and then they said it was the fuel regulator and replaced that. I still have the same problem. How do you check to see if you have fuel pressure while cranking?
Two things come to mid. FMC is notorious for there emergency fuel shut off switch malfunctioning. Should be in the passenger kick panel. I honestly don't now how to test these. Also, Some ECMs will not operate below 12.6 volts. The engineering geniuses allowed the motor to crank but not start the ECM if the voltage is low. Many owners have had to replace batteries or carry a booster pack just in case. May not be your problem but wanted to throw that out there.

There will be a schrader valve on the fuel line under the hood. A fuel pressure gauge will screw into it
