Do you mean a rubber hose? There is a vacuum tree near the rear of the engine where several hoses connect. See if it has come loose from that. If so you have a vacuum leak and that would explain the rough running.

How to change head gasket on 2004 aztek

My experience; 2001 Aztec. Overheating in small high performance aluminum motors is very common. If the car is run(even for a short time) with the motor overheated, you will damage the engine. I changed the head gasket, had the head done, replaced the gaskets on the manifolds etc. , since the top of the motor has to be taken down to get at the head. If I had it do over I think I would have pulled the motor, of course this is no small matter either. GM didn't put much thought into working on this car. My recommendation, after making sure its not a simple problem IE: fans, radiator, etc. Pour some sealer into the cooling system and try to sell it to your worst enemy.

Had the radaitor rod out had goose neck change had a single head gasket done check hoses and car stills runs hot and now i see slug in the cap of the eninge

if it looks like a chocolte milkshake you are getting water or coolant in the oil. pull the oil dip stick and look for traces of water in oil. if water in oil. you have another gasket job to do. more destructive route is through a coolant leak due to a bad gasket, an engine crack, etc. This amount of moisture is generally going to cause serious engine issues including loss of power, oil sludging, etc. Consult your mechanic when in doubt. good-day! if its a v6 maybe the other head gasket is bad. this will cause it to heat up.

check the head gasket, look for steam from tail pipe and keep a check on radiater flood level,if it keeps getting low that is a good sign of a bad head gasket.

mcdevito75 here, Your engish is certainly better than my language in your orginal language. ------ If I understand, you have prestoine (anti freeze) in your oill, you say you changed the head gasket and checked the head. It is possible to have prestone in your oil from a bad (cracked) head and or gasket, if you have a V6--V8 engine you have 2 heads and 2 head gaskets, more important is a bad gasket / head will also cause the engine to run hot very fast, cause a miss or shake in the engine and also white smoke from the exhaust. If-- you don"t have these problems, and you still have prestone in the oil than you have a crack in the engine block, (where the pistons are) This cannot be fixed, and the only way to checl is to take the engine apart and see the crack as you let the pistons go up and down. If the prestone shown on the oil stick is far above the oil mark then it"s a cracked block, you"ll need a new engine.

What would it cost to replace gasket on a 1998 Lumina V6 3.8

sounds like you have blown head gasket, or cracked head, did the motor run hot, if so, you can try head gasket, maybe you will get lucky, also i would replace intake gaskets, parts should be anywhere from 50.00 to 200.00 dollars, depends were you get them, need to clean out cyclinder with antifreeze in it, and check other ones too, pull plugs out get somebody to turn motor over watch for antifreeze coming out of spark plug holes, maybe you can put head gasket on and keep on riding...

White smoke or steam coming out of exhaust pipe,

Its funny that everyone has solved the problem without any answers to critical questions. In this case, everyone is right and everyone is wrong. ONLY careful testing and observation will determine if there is an actual problem. I do not solve problems just to be first. Even in a hands-on situation I refuse to jump to conclusions before testing, otherwise you run the risk of at best, "chasing your tail" or at worst, tearing into a perfectly good engine to prove nothing!!!
