You will have to have the main computer programmed to the new ignition switch. The days of just changing parts and having them work without computer problems has come and gone.

1995 chevy astro no spark from coil changed coil and ecm

You may want to try looking at your ignition switch. The ignition switch controls all of the power for the rest of your vehicle, and if the ignition switch is bad it will cause problems like you are having. I hope this helps.

My key wont turn at all when i try to start it and jiggling the steering wheel doesnt help either'

your having the same problem alot of people are having with the ignition switch, the only way to fix it is to change the whole igniton switch you can eitther go buy a new one or a used one from a junkyard either way you go, you will end up changing the ignition switch to cure the problem. The saturn ions are also having the same ignition problems.

Get someone to change the ignition switch. Chevy is notorious for having cheesey ignition switch tumblers. I just had the exact same problem with my chevy truck.

I need to change the ignition

Hi - sorry you're having a problem

To change the KEY Ignition will come with step by step instructions

2 - To change the ELECTRICAL Ignition [ symptoms being -having to 'jiggle' the ignition to get the fan to come on] to have to move the key CAREFULLY to get the engine to start.

If this is it - then you will need to replace the electrical switch - this is at the BOTTOM of the steering wheel column and requires a lot more expertise. If it is the bottom unit please come back and I will walk you through that one.

I hope this is what you needed for help - if I have helped in any way please vote me up -

Our honda civic lxi 2001's engine is shutting down while running at 40 to 60kph in edsa. we have this checked by Honda already, but they didn't find anything wrong. Intermittent kasi e. Not consistently...

A very common problem with these models with your symptoms is defective ignition switch contacts.
It is so commonly troublesome I would recommend having the ignition switch changed at this time as a possible cure to your problem.(You will need one soon anyway)
Not the complete ignition lock with key and switch......just the ignition switch which is screwed to the back of the ignition lock.
The switch is not expensive and easy to change.
