Question about 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser

1 Answer

Replace turbocharger How difficult is it to replace a turbocharger on a 2005 PT Cruiser? Would it be the same as a 2003? I consider myself handy around cars but have never tackled this kind of job. I can purchase a factory Service Manual for a 2003 and follow instructions through that. I just don't know if there would be any difference from 2003 to 2005.

Idk for sure if its gonna be the same or not, but basically replacing a turbo is pulling some bolts and replacing some bolts, the only thing that i would recomend looking up would be the torque ratings for the bolts on the turbo, but you'll prolly be able to pull it off no problem

2005 pt cruiser grey smoke

Gray smoke can be difficult to diagnose.
Black is usually too much fuel, and white is usually a coolant leak.
You should be adding coolant to the radiator if it is a coolant leak.

We do not have that info. Sorry. The average boost for a factory system is about 8-10 PSI, do not exceed that by more than 3 PSI without engine modifications or you will shorten the life of the engine tremendously.
