Hi,
You have the actual key that inserts into the door lock? Are you certain it's the correct key and not a 'valet' key? Does the car have other key locks that it may work in such as the rear hatch or passenger's door? Attached is the Owner's Manual or call the dealer for more ideas.
whats this X reg thing please does it mean its a naughty version? just use the key and dont arm the alarm if its a seperate add on alarm then cut it right out as never seen a factory alarm on this car only the immobilisor .
unlock the car with the key/hold over for 30 secs.
lock the car with the key/hold over 30 secs.
then press/hold down unlock button on remote.
you have just reset your alarm/central locking system
change remote batteries every 2 years...... both remotes....
programming of remote :- ( you will need all your remotes for this )
insert a programmed key into the ignition.
turn key to position 2 & back four times within 6 second.
when you turn the ignition off after the fourth turn you should hear a beep to tell you your in programming mode for the next 10 seconds.
press any button on your new remote ( a tone will be heard when the car accepts the button press ) now do the same with your old remotes too.
either switch the ignition back on or wait until the timer runs out on the programming mode & your done
1. used the key to start the car...then turned it off
2. put the key in the driver door (door closed)
3. pressed the lock button on the key fob once
4. turned the key to lock the door.
This is basically the steps in the owners manual, but the car must be started with the key first, and the key must be in the door lock before pressing the lock button.
