1996 Toyota Tacoma tuning hot replaced thermostat still run. Hot

may be a waterpump issue or the cooling fan may not be working..some are electric others are driven by the belts..withthe engine off(and I mean stopped) try to spin the belt driven fan by hand,if it freewheels its bad,,(clutch unit on fan no good) this will not move the air through the radiator fins good enough to cool prperly..good luck..

{: ) The engine control module is programmed to protect the engine by disabling the starting system whenever it detects that the engine temperature is beyond safe limits. Depending on how fast the engine cools, it will resume normal starting after cooling down for a while.
A diagnostic scan tool readout can give you a quick idea about the possible causes of your engine overheating. For the meantime, as soon as you can start the vehicle after cooling down, drive the vehicle and try to turn off or minimize the loads , and avoid traffic sitting as possible, just enough time to reach home or a nearby service shop.
There are several things that need to be checked:
The coolant level and quality, and check for signs of coolant leaks.
The cooling fans, are they operating as designed? Check for fan blades damage or cracks.
The water pump could be faulty. Check also the engine belt.
The engine oil.
If the engine temperature sensor is faulty, it can also bring inaccurate signals and may affect operation of the cooling fans.
Check fuses and relays that power the cooling fans.

Truck dies after being driven less then 20 miles and wont restart till it cools down

Check the radiator cooling fan.Is it running when the engine gets hot.It should run.If not then its the problem. Also get the coolant level checked. If the coolant is low or if its getting leaked then it can be the issue.

1- check for codes with scanner to see why check light coming on. 2 unbolt exhaust before caterlic convertor. Run car to see if still does it.If it does not the caterlic converter is the problem.the car temp should not go over 220 degrees. if car is getting to hot it will shut off, check cooling system and cooling fans to make sure they are comming on. Also if water is flowing through thermastat.Map sensor when gets hot could cut out. some places to look. doug

My2005 f250 6.0 l diesel will crank but not start and run

Possibly a crank sensor on or around the harmonic balancer, acts as a magnet like on an old buick. When you get the truck to fire up run it until she gets hot shut it and try to restart if no start continues try spraying starter fluid on the crank sensor itself. What happens is the sensor overheats and wont register that your cranking the engine. Spraying the starting fluid on the sensor will cool it dramaticlly enough for you to restart.
