Question about 1999 Honda Passport

Car over heated and died and won't start

While driving on the highway car over heated and died and I can't restart, when I try to start it turns over but sounds like there is no compression.

Im sorry to hear that, but your cylinder head was damaged ( cracked or warped, causing the compression to escape) you have to replace the head.

Won't start and shuts off while driving


I would check the main fuse relay aka fuel relay... Located under the dash, on the steering colum... They go bad with the heat.. I have an 01 cl and would act stupid on hot days and that relay fixed my issue...

I have a 1988 Dodge Dynasty that acts like it's vapor locking.


yes fuel pump is dying (it's old ) it will finnaly give up the ghost some day soon then engine won't run at all

common problem pump heats up and shuts off cools off and runs again cyclic

this all assumes you have kept up on changing the fuel filter at reg intervals too

Going down highway can't accellerate car slows and dies won't restart .Fuel cutout light on dash 'checked shut off switch button still down.Son ,Wife and my 14 mo granddaughter stranded on...


I had the same problem with mine and the problem was found to be a part in the distributer braking down after years of use . Got the part changed and have had no further problems .

Car died


The steering is powered by the crank by a v-belt, so, this only works with the engine turned on. Check all the gas supply lines (and fuel pump) and the electrical power from the distributor.
