Knock sensor Why is my 1990 buick lesabre idling high after replacing the knock sensor?

Your old knock sensor may have been slowing the engine down by sending the wrong signals and retarding the timing too much. The engine will run faster if the timing is advanced. But there are other things that maybe don't make sense with that answer. Let me know if you figure it out :)

I have a 1990 buick park ave that is idled very high

check your car's error codes for anything you might have missed. the last time I had that problem, the knock sensor had also gone out due to a spark plug wire leak that had also done a number on the computer.

Hi i have 1990 buick lesabre limited and the service engine light is on and im getting 13 different codes i believe there a is a bad censor cause the rest of the codes but i dont know here are the codes...

First thing I would do is reset ALL the codes. Do you have your own code sensor OBD2? A soon as the check engine light comes on, pull over and shut off the car and then re-read the codes.
Let me know what you find.
Good Luck

I have been told I need to replace the dampner on my 1990 Buick Lesabre. Where is this located?

Its the main large pulley at the end of the crankshaft. You dont say WHY you think you need it. Usually they make a knocking or squealing noise. Special tools are needed to replace it.

I have a 1990 Buick Lesabre, it will start when cold, but not when its warmed up at all. If i let it Idle for 5 minutes and turn it off and back on it wont start. It seems to run fine when it does turn on...

Hello: I would first check the coolant sensor then the fuel pressure then also check the vacuum line going to the fuel pressure regulator. If it has gas in it the regulator is bad.

1990 Buick Lesabre keeps stalling

Check ecm for part number 1228253. If it has this number in it replace it with a 16198264. Gm had trouble with that ecm for a cutting off problem. Mine would stall driving down the road and when I would put it neutral it would start back up and not have any trouble for the rest of the day. You must set the tps with a volt meter or scan tool.
