when i crank the car up the driver information display turns on and it looks garbled and pixelated. then it shuts off. I have contacted shokan.com about getting a new one. i bought my car used and it was cheap... so i know im going to have to drop some cash on it. does the module have to be flashed?

No it can't - Audi is known for pixellation problems with the dashboard display panels on the information center. They're an expensive part (I've heard $700 in conjunction with having them replaced). There also, unfortunately, isn't a fix for it. On top of that, you could use one out of a salvaged car (such as a place like www.shokan.com - Audi salvage yard in upstate NY), but it won't just bolt in - the panel is driven by the computer, so you need to have the new dash sync'ed to the car's ECU (dealer may have to handle that for you).

It's unfortunate, but that problem has no easy or inexpensive fix.

2001 Auroro 3.5 V6 low oil pressure in display area and oil light come on shortly after start up then goes out when temperature gauge reads car is warm. Oil change shop says no leaks and they changed...

you have a cartridge filter on a 3.5, it is not a screw-on metal canister like most oil filters...the cover that has to be removed to take out and install the new cartridge is made of plastic and you might have a leak there-but I would suspect either the oil pressure sensor or the wiring or connector needs checking or cleaning. You should be using 5w-30 oil, and the capacity is 6 quarts. If you get a warning when cold that goes away when warm, it is not an engine problem but is a sensor problem, oil gets thinner as it warms, dropping pressure. Since your display trips when cold (higher pressure) it sounds like a sensor issue, and the module itself (the display on the dash) can also go bad on these cars.

How do I reset my service B indicator on my 2002

    1. Place the ignition key in position #2. That's the one just befor the starter engages. (My owners manual said position #1, but that didn't work.) 2. Bring up the odometer/mileage reading on the screen, and then scroll until you get the FSS display. (Flexible Service Schedule) That's the one that shows how many miles until the next servicing. 3. Press the "R" (reset button) on the instrument panel for about 2 seconds and release. The display should change to ask you if you want to reset the reading. 4. Press and HOLD the "R" button again until the mileage resets.
Note: Sometimes it won't work if any of the doors are open. Make sure all doors are closed.

Change Oil Warning won't go away.

Depends on model and features. 2009 SEL, with no rear seat entertainment:

Place ignition in "Key On, Engine Off" position, then push gas pedal to floor and release 3 times. Turn ignition off, and it should be reset.

The procedure was in the owners manual in the section about the odometer and related features.

    Display reads oil at 15%

You will have to reset the maintance light. Turn the key in the on position.( Not the crank position ) Push the trip meter button until you see the mileage reading. Now turn key off and with left hand hold in trip button. While holding in the button with left hand turn key to on position until you see dash lights. Hold button in until light starts to blink then after 4 blinks release button for 4 blinks then hold in again until light resets. If it doesn't work try trip A instead of mileage reading.

    Transmission shifts irratic when cold

If fluid level is good, the hydraulic value of the trans fluid maybe low or worn. If fluid is old or burnt, (never been changed, or high mileage,) sometimes not a good idea to flush. Highly suggest LUCAS (ONLY) Transmission Treatment, carefully read instructions on bottle. Transmission replacement is expensive, following maintance will prove rewarding! If you wait to long to flush trans your worse off!!! Hopefully helpful!!!!

1987 740 Auto Trans wont shift till warmed up

Run the engine til hot, check the transmission fluid... If it is dark/dirty red and smells bad, it needs to be changed. If it hasnt been changed in your knowledge in the last 40,000 miles, change it anyway. If that doesnt fix it and the fluid was very smelly even after u changed it and ran it for an hour on the road, the trans may have to be rebuilt. There are some treatments you can add and many do work well, so go to autozone or Napa and check em out. I would recommend high mileage additives anyway if the mileage is high as you'll get more life out of the transmissio...hope that helps...if so rate me..
