Question about 2000 Audi A4
No it can't - Audi is known for pixellation problems with the dashboard display panels on the information center. They're an expensive part (I've heard $700 in conjunction with having them replaced). There also, unfortunately, isn't a fix for it. On top of that, you could use one out of a salvaged car (such as a place like www.shokan.com - Audi salvage yard in upstate NY), but it won't just bolt in - the panel is driven by the computer, so you need to have the new dash sync'ed to the car's ECU (dealer may have to handle that for you).
It's unfortunate, but that problem has no easy or inexpensive fix.
