Correct Engine Light PC 420, How?

If you mean P0420, the code means the catalytic converter is not functioning at spec.
The problem may be the converter, or the fuel system, or the cooling system. You may need a mechanic to check it out.

Check engine light comes when its cold

Have the engine computer scanned for trouble codes. Autozone and Oreillys do scans for free. The code or codes will indicate the problem.
When the engine light is on, the computer has detected a fault in the engine management, and will set a trouble code.

The check engine light suddenly came on what shall i do?

  • The check engine light means a sensor has sent a fault to the PCM. Now you have to pull the codes to know what happened. You can have this done at any major parts store in your area for free. Auto Zone, Advanced and NAPA to name a few. Then write the codes down so you can cross them with what is wrong and how to fix it. If you are not having any symptoms then you it may have been a glitch. You can get the codes read, write them down and then clear them. If the light stays away then great, but if it should return you can cross the codes you have now with the ones you get and determine the reoccurring issue.

  • Hope this helps.

Regards, Tony

When im on the highway getting up to about 80k my Navigator starts to jolt a little like losing power the check engine light comes on periodacly then goes off once I'm back driving in the city ..it's...

First change the fuel filter, could also be the pump.
then get all the codes erased and drive for a while. if the light comes back on have it check and post it. we'll go from there good luck

My 2006 Hummer H2 has check engine light on for abut 2 weeks, I checked fuse box and no burned out fuse, all OK. what could it be wrong? what shall I do about it? Can I fix it myself? Can anyone tell me...

There could be a hundred causes for a check engine light (and probably not for a fuse). First step is to hook up a computer scan tool and see what codes the computer has. The next step depends on the codes.

My Ford Explore 2003 has engine service soon light on. What shall I do with it?

Go to an autozone they can read the codes and reset the light. They do this as a free service. If there is a problem and you dont repair it the light will return. Sometimes the light can come on for no apparent reason (no code present) a loose gas cap can trigger the check engine light.

Check engine likes comes on and off

The best way to find a solution to the problem is to have a dianostic analysis. You have a plastic cover next to the cigarette lighter. Look closely, you shall see inprinted an engine diagram. Remove the plastic cover and you will see the plug for the computer diagnostic. You can buy the comp for about 100 dollars or pay the mechanic 80 dollars for a one time check. The computer will give you codes on what is wrong and then you have a book to see wht the codes are. You probably have a bad fuel line injector..just a guess...good luck

What does the engine malfunction warning light indicate

the only thing the light tell you is the computers sensors have seen a problem. you need to get the codes out of the cars computer
you need the use of a scan tool
some auto parts stores will scan your car for you for no charge.
get your codes and let us know and we will help find your problem.
also when they check your codes have them erase them and see if they come back
