Question about 2001 Honda Civic

Car needs jumper cables to get started

My battery is charged cause the wipers, radio and lights come on. There is a flashing key on the dashboard. My parking brake light is lit but the parking brake is fine. My side mirror got knocked off about two weeks ago and since then I have had these problems.

I have the same problem with the vehicle not starting unless I use jumper cables in the mornings. But once it's started, I can turn it on and off all day until I let it sit overnight. Come morning, it requires another jump.

    How can I fix it?

It could be all coincidence with the mirror, however if it was an electric mirror, could be causing a short, in which I would say to tape the ends of the wires as to stop there being any contact. Now, as for the battery, it may be holding charge, however it may still have a failing cell, preventing it from powering up under the initial starting load. Check the battery with a voltmeter, if its over 12 volts, it is fine. If under, consider replacement. Also I had a similar issue once with a lancer. Turned out it was a coroded core in the earth wire. Id say start with the cheapest fix, try the power and earth wires replacement, check the voltage of the battery, and the problem should be fixed. If nothing appears to be still causing the problem and it persists (the wires will be hard to tell unless you simply replace with new ones), you might need to get your starter reconditioned, might be draining more power than can be supplied. An overhall would fix this, but is pricely.

Won't start lights on the dash flashing on and off no management light on

Sounds like the battery or the alternator
Usually has to do with the voltage regulator in the alternator.
That tells it where to put the power and how much output to put.
If the voltage starts to fail it will put the power to the most important parts which is the engine and it will make your lights flicker.

Battery drains and the dashboard lights will not turn on.

There is most certainly something draining the battery in the car. I would start with all of the door and interior light switches. Then to items like the radio and fans. I personally had found that my blower fan for the heat/AC was not turning off in my truck causing it to drain. If you have a rear wiper motor that is also suspect. Keep posting as you find things out.

My modus will not start, only get a click when i turn on the ignition and the window wipers then come on and it says check abs brakes and passenger airbag on......can anyone give me any advice..

The checks that pop up on the dashboard are part of the startup.
You say it won't start? Is it turning over or is there just a click and nothing?
If there is a click and nothing else get a neighbour and some heavy jumper cables and see if it starts when jumped.
If it does and runs normally, get the charging system checked by putting an appropriate testbox/meter across the battery terminals when running. The volts should be about 14v when on fast idle.
If only 12 or less then the alternator is not charging, here you will need more specific help to confirm the fault.
If the volts are good then suspect the battery. If its more than 5 years old then its had a good life. Low battery voltage will cause all sorts of weird things to show, don't panic, but check your radio codes before disconnecting your battery or rig up a small 12v battery to your batt cables to maintain the juice to the radio during the batt swap.

VW beetle 2003 won't start. nothing not a click

Check to make sure the master fuse hasn't blown. It's rather large and should be located next to the fuse box. Also, make sure you don't have a broken battery cable. With an ohm meter, check both the positive and negative cables. You should only see a few ohms of resistance. If you see a really high number or it indicates that it is open, replace the cable. I hope this helps! :)

Bypass clutch safety switch

no crank this is called, cars (A/T) do not start unless cranked first.
the page covers it. all i need was the no crank
and at the end of page the tricks with A/T .
http://www.fixkick.com/nocrank.html#tricks

this page covers every way possible to cause , NO CRANK.

my guess. is a bad PRNDL (prindle) switch.
try starting in neutral , try wiggling the shifter to get the silly switch to work. all A/T cars do this. all.
in my M./T car if my clutch switch fails i carry a bypass plug.
i got way far off road. where there are no tow trucks.

the one thing you forgot was the jumper cable test.
and it will not start, proving the your battery was not and issue
and 12.6vdc at the battery , (rested) shows it was charged
and your light tests, are all good checks, few , know to test HL. First.

Have 04 Sprinter - batteries fully charged - lights and radio work but no cranking or start

Is there a no start error message in cluster. If so could be a bad key or wsm module

Noise coming from engine, i used regular gas instead of premium

If premium is recommended then noise from the engine is very likely "knock." This can permanently damage the motor if it hasn't already.

You should siphon out the regular fuel and FILL it with premium of the highest octane you have available to you. Then top it off with a product called Chemtool B12 by Berryman.

Remote door locks don't work and engine won't turn over or start. Jumper cables don't help.

The first thing is to make sure the battery is fully charged, sometimes jumper cables wont work if battery is to far gone, also check the connections, the last and most common is theres a problem with the inside fuse panel wiring, the main power wiring feeding fusebox melts, this cause the loss of power, the dash lights light up when turning the key but the car will not do anything when key is in the crank spot the engine will not spin to start, in this case wiring and fusebox need replacing, diagnose first before replacing parts,

Car will not start, completely dead, no lights flashing..Battery is new and charged....could it be the immobiliser, how do I check?

MAKE SURE THE BATTERY IS TESTED BY A KRAGEN OR AUTOZONE WITH A LOAD TESTER, IT IS FREE, ALSO IF THE CABLES ARE MAKING A POOR CONNECTION IT WON'T TAKE A JUMP, ALSO AN OPEN BATTERY PLATE CAN CAUSE THIS NO JUMP SITUATION, HAVE U LOCKED AND UNLOCKED THE DOOR WITH THE KEY TO DISARM THE ALARM BEFORE TRYING TO START WITH A JUMPER HOOKED UP?
