Question about 2001 Dodge Neon
While I was sitting at a stop light, my lights go off, and then all of the sudden the car just goes off. I put it in park, tried to start it up, it didn't work. I tried again and it started just fine. I got home okay, but this is weird, never happened to me before.
I am over due on an oil change though, maybe this could be the problem?
Do you have a lot of keys on your key ring?
3 times I have ran in to this and found the key ring was over loaded and ended up wearing out the ignition key switch due to the extra weight. The contacts become misaligned causing the car to shut off at anytime, not remain running after key is released during starting.
This happened to my Wife, and Grandmother if you have a lot of keys put them on something else and not your cars key ring if you can help it.
