Question about 1994 Toyota Corolla
I have a 1994 5 speed Corolla. If i accelerate slowly, there doesn't seem to be much of a problem, however, if I try to accelerate quickly at all the RPMs go way and the car doesn't get any faster. It almost feels like the clutch is engaging when I try to accelerate fast. FYI my clutch is set very high, it engages in the first few inches and doesn't disengage until the last few also. Thanks for any help Cage
I'm not sure what you mean by "the RPMs go way". If you meant that the RPM goes up high, then it sounds like the clutch is slipping. I think your model will have a hydraulic clutch, which is non-adjustable, so the clutch will need to be replaced. This sounds the most likely scenario, given the high clutch pedal take-up point you described. However, if you meant that the RPM's go away (or drop down), then it might be an ignition misfire, but I need more info.
