Its a blown headgasket or corroded head.Pull the plugs out of each cylinder and see if they have any sign of water in a cylinder.Does it over heat or the water bubble up or steam?White is steam(water)Grey to black is burning oil .Could be both if it is the head or gasket. Can be but rarely cracked head.Is the oil still clean or starting to froth and turn white. That also means head or gasket

Burning smell and tons of smoke coming from tailpipes

White smoke from your tail pipes usually points to water making it into the cylinders. Possibly a bad head gasket or even a cracked block. Gray or black smoke usually points to oil as the culprit.

1991 dimante is smooking from the exhaust I have changed the oil.

If it's white smoke you have a crack in the block or a blown head gasget. If it's bluish smoke you have worn or broken piston ring(s). If it only smokes for a short time after it has been sitting for hours or longer it's bad valve seals.

My x5 4.8 smokes some when in idle

White smoke- head gasget, dark or bluish smoke-piston rings or valve seals. A good indicator of it being valve seals is: after being parked a while and restarted the smoke will be more intense for a short time.

My mileage is over 130,000 ansd my car smokes when i drive it. It's white smoke. What's wrong with my car?

white smoke means water or antifreeze. blue smoke means oil. black smoke means rich fuel mixture. So if it is white you are burning antifreeze which usually means you have a bad head gasket or intake manifold gasket. is your car over heating? that is the main symptom of a bad head gasket. how much white smoke are you getting if it is not much it could be just condensation and nothing to worry about.

1993 acura legend always smoke white from exhaust and temp gauge fluxuate from high to mid-range constantly

If it is excessive, your coolant may be going in the engine. Have the head gasket checked. Worst case could be a cracked head.

Losing oil through exhaust and white smoking, what could be the problem?

Sounds like head gasget, Does it run hot? Does it use coolant? Better do a pressure test on the cooling system, Just to see where its leaking, most likely it going into a cyl. because of a blowen head gasget or maybe a cracked head. Thats why the white smoke out exhaust.
