1996 Ford Subaru where is the turn signal flasher hidden

1996 ford Taurus - the 4-way flasher and turn signal flasher works sometimes and sometimes not. I tried to find the flasher unit but could'nt find it. All I saw underneath was the box for all the fuses, but it'as not there? Also what is the aftermarket part number at an Auto Part Store or do I have to go to a dealer.

could this be caused by getting the dash taken out and put back for a heater core fix?

The flasher is behind the trim panel under the steering wheel, it is an electronic module.

Use a test light, test for power and ground at the bulb contacts. Then test for power and ground at the wires. Probably needs a new socket, common problem.

1996 FORD F150 ALL THE LIGHTS WORK, EXCEPT WHEN I TURN ON MY 4 WAYS THEY WONT WORK I CHECKED ALL THE FUSES AND I CHANGED THE TURN SIGNAL SWITCH. MY 4 WAYS JUST WONT WORK WHEN TURNED ON

You may need to replace the flasher, the turn signals use a different flasher but the same wireing so that would be the first place i would start.

96 Ford Taurus no turn signals or hazards

Take the turn signal lever and jiggle it, a lot. If they start working, the switch is bad. You can also turn on the hazards and take hold of the button and push it left , right , forward and back and see if they start working. If so, replace the turn signal/ hazard switch.
