You will probably want to make sure the air intake system is dry, prehaps blow it out with some compressed air. You will also want to drain the oil and gas and put new in to make sure no water was mixed in and be sure the cylinders are empty of anything before starting (google how, you should find out there). Eletronics might have to be replaced and the computer if there is one.

First things first, make sure the motor still works. remove the spark plugs AND KEEP THEM OUT, change the oil, including oil filter. Put fresh oil in. Put in new battery and see if the motor cranks over. If so, you are one lucky SOB. If not, lol, your motor is shot. Sorry. See, the reason you keep the spark plugs out is so the water in the cylinders is shot out when/if the motor is turned over. But then, before you run your vechile, you must drain your tranni fluid, replace it, same thing with your differentials and fuel tanks and lines. I don't know if it's over kill or not, but I'ld do the same thing with your brake fluid too. Once all that fluids replaced, you can put your plugs back in, prime the fuel system, and let it run. And like I said, if it dose run, you are one really lucky SOB.

Hi have a 2005 ford mustang I just bought over a little month ago, my top will go down and won't come back up. This is the second time it has happen and I don't understand why it does this, the first time...

do you have the engine running when try to raise/ lower roof ? if not pherhaps you should , if you do i'd have the battery condition and alternator charge rate checked as the motor to raise/lower roof will pull a few amp's , if these are ok then i'd be looking at the roof mechanism and motor ,switch etc

My 2001 Ford Escort ZX2 keeps getting water in it; what could be causing it?

If it has a sun roof, check it for leaks or there are drain tubes coming off of the sunroof that drain water from the roof. If the drain tubes are blocked the water could come inside. If the inside headliner has stains on it, they may be water stains which tells of a leak.

1990 ford ranger 2.9 litre. coming home from shopping & starts to overheat, lots of steam coming from just under the a/c compressor very close to water pump. coolant visible on that side of engine but...

Ford water pumps have a "weep hole" on the bottom of the water pump. When the bearings go bad the coolant will weep from there. Also you may just need to get in there with a flashlight, probably from underneath the truck and see exactly where the steam is coming from. Check all the heater hose attachments and the radiator hoses. If you are lucky it may just be a worn out hose.

I have oil leaking into my 1990 ford festivas radiator, what could be causing this?Is this a serious problem?

It could be the transmission oil leaking since the transmission fluid goes through the bottom of the radiator to cool off. You may need to replace the radiator. But if it's motor oil then there is a blown gasket on the motor or crack. Look at the motor oil on the dip stick and see if it looks normal or is milky looking indicating that there is also water in your motor. If it's just the radiator then it's not a serious as it is if the water is in the motor. Motor will be damaged with water in it.

Sunroof won't operate

Sun roofs all have a common problem in design...Ther are all on the roof...and exposed to rain, dirt, dust, etc. etc. Your sliding tracks are probably clogged with the above mentioned and are causing a binding in the track sleeves which makes the motor work much harder and causes the motor brushes to overheat and stall or burn up completly. Next time the motor is replaced, make sure the technician thoroughly cleans and properly lubricates the tracks, sleeves, and guides.
