I have the same issue with a 2001. These are definately 10mm bolt heads and there is just no clearance to reach the top bolts with a wrench or socket with standard extensions.

I believe the hole assembly comes out in one piece by removing 2 moutning bolts (1/2 in. or 13mm)

How do I adjust the linkage on my 1995 Mercury Grand Marquis shifter is sloppy

The bolts loosen up on the bracket that holds the shifter shaft to the cable. Look up from the floor board and look above the steering column in the shift cable area. Wiggle the shifter and you should see the problem. Tighten the bolts with a torx bit.

Replacing a Starter on a 1990 Mercury Grand Marquis

Disconnect the battery positive terminal. Disconnect the wire going to the start. Unbolt the 2 13mm bolts holding in the starter, one on top, one on the bottom. You may have to move the starter around a little to get it out.

What is the tire size for a 1995 Mercury Marquis?

On Firestone's site it says for a 1995 Grand Marquis with the handling package, the tire size is P225/60R16 with or without the TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system).

For a 1995 Grand Marquis GS/LS with or without TPMS it says the tire size is P215/70R15.

The page I entered in the info is here:

Hope this helps.
