Question about 1995 Ford Escort
My car is a 1995 1.9 liter Ford Escort, standard 5 speed. It sat in about 18" of water when Hurricane Ike hit us and I have had quite a bit of work already done, including a rebuilt computer. Everything works now except the radiator fan and I was told by one mechanic that the fan has a separate computer module but my used parts dealer says not. What do I do now?
The next step is to determine if the thermal water switch usualy located at bottom of radiator is working. There are two wires one is ignition power and the other goes to the fan.the thermal water switch acts like an opening and closing door When it gets hot it opens the door a lets the fan have power. If you have a testlight/probe you can check if there is power there when you turn on the key if there is you join the two wires together and the fan will go if it doesnt then replace fan if it does work replace thermal water switch.Good luckOh yeah!dont need a computer to tell a fan to switch on
